2005 - Digital Inclusion Award


BT Digital Inclusion - Supported by BT, this category seeks voluntary sector* projects that use ICT to enhance access to services and opportunities for individuals and groups. Examples may include projects that aim to reduce social exclusion, increase social interaction and improve access to jobs, education, entertainment, shopping, cultural and leisure interests.

Winner: TheCademy - Notschool.net

Notschool.net is a 'virtual online community' that offers learning via the internet to young people who are not engaged in the more traditional forms of education such as school, home tutoring or specialist units.

Judges’ comment: “Notschool.net stood out as a great example of how digital technologies can really help to engage and inspire young people in education in a way that makes learning relevant to their lives and interests.”
