Climate Change and Environmental Efficiency - Sponsored by UK CEED, this category is for projects which make use of ICT to reduce
the environmental impacts of energy, water and resource use. It is open to projects and applications which increase our understanding of the impacts or science of climate change.
Winner: ENWORKS - Online Toolkit
ENworks and its teams of local Business Environment Associations operate an online resource efficiency toolkit that allows organisations to record resource efficiency opportunities, monitor their progress, and quantify environmental efficiency results. There are currently over 470 organisations registered achieving annual cost savings of £9.4 million, 2.2 million tonnes of raw materials and almost 50,000 tonnes of CO2.
Judges’ comment: “This excellent project demonstrates how effective partnership working and ICT can deliver tangible environmental benefits and staggering cost savings for organisations”.
